Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to me on the day, 'Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?  Then I will tell them plainly, ' I never knew you.  Depart from me, you workers of iniquity.' ~ Matthew 7:21-23.

Scripture tells us that there is a heaven and it is a paradise beyond our imagination.  Scripture also tells us that not everyone will gain admittance.  I imagine that Jesus will, either literally or metaphorically, ask each of us why we should be allowed to enter that paradise and spend eternity there with Him.  What kind of response could we offer which would allow us to obtain this wonderful and eternal gift?

Entering into His magnificent presence
Heaven becomes a paradise beyond imagination
When asked why I should be allowed to enter therein
I said, 'Lord, it is by your salvation!

By faith, I have placed my hope in you
By faith I've offered my gratitude and service;
By faith I stand before you now smiling
You know me, Lord, so I'm not nervous ...

I say not these things to exhibit my good works
I say them because I believe, you see
That You alone can save me, Lord ...
You alone, will give me entry.

And Jesus Christ replied, "Enter in, thou good and faithful servant."
